SCOTUS Gun Watch - Week of 3/3/25

The Court redistributed the two pending assault weapon and large-capacity magazine cases (Snope and Ocean State) for last Friday's conference, but today's order list again did not address them.  The justices denied certiorari in United States v. Medina-Cantu, where the Fifth Circuit rejected an undocumented immigrant's Second Amendment challenge to the federal ban on gun possession in 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(5) and Judge Ho concurred to note his view that "it’s already well established that illegal aliens do not have Second Amendment rights."

The Court will hear argument in Smith & Wesson v. Estados Unidos Mexicanos tomorrow starting at 10:00 AM Eastern time.
