The Firearms Section Emerging Scholar Award
The AALS Section on Firearms Law awards the Firearms Section Emerging Scholar Award each year to a faculty member who has completed no more than 7 years in a full-time academic teaching position, including as a Visiting Assistant Professor or Fellow, as of July 1 of the year in which the nomination is considered. Awardees are selected based on their outstanding contributions to the field of firearms law through legal scholarship, teaching, mentoring, or development of the field of firearms law. Scholars currently serving as a VAP or Fellow are eligible. The award is designed to encourage development of the field of firearms law in legal academia and to recognize exemplary teaching and scholarship in the field by emerging faculty.
Nominations only by AALS members.  Nominations should be submitted to AALSfirearmsaward@gmail.com and include the name and law school of the nominee and a brief description of why the nominee meets the qualifications for the award.
The award committee looks forward to honoring one of our colleagues in January!
