Teaching Resources
As part of the Center’s mission to advance the field of firearms law, we aim to build upon and learn from the best resources out there on teaching firearms law. This page will be continually updated.
Tips for Teaching Firearms Law
In 2019, the Center hosted a mini-symposium on the blog about teaching courses related to firearms law and the Second Amendment. You can view those collected posts here: Mini-Symposium: Teaching Firearms Law. If you have taught a course on firearms law or the Second Amendment, or if you have taken one, and have thoughts or comments on what works best, we’d love to hear from you.
Firearms Law Course Syllabi
The Center directors have also posted the syllabi used in our courses below. In addition, we appreciate the willingness of several scholars to give us permission to post the syllabi they have used in teaching these courses over the years.
If you teach a related course and would be willing to share your syllabus, please reach out to us. Center leadership is also more than happy to discuss course design, resources, and current issues in the field with professors who may be interested in developing a course.
