Trade for Powder &c Felony.
Whereas it was enacted at a Grand Assembly Anno 1637 that it should be adjudged felony in any person or persons to barter with the Indians for pieces powder shot[1] or other arms or ammunition or any other commodities[2] whatsoever without Commission from the Governor It is thought fit[3] and accordingly enacted that the penalty of Felony in the said[4] Act expressed shall be repealed unless it be for bartering or trading with the Indians for pieces powder and shot[5] in which case the said[6] act is to remain in force. And if any person shall barter or trade with the Indians for any other Commodities[7] such person shall suffer imprisonment[8] at the discretion of the Governor and Council."
