“Ordinance No. 512

    An ordinance prohibiting the use of fire works, explosives or fire arms, and prohibiting the sale of fire works, explosives, combustibles and explosive devices in the City of Ellensburg, providing a penalty for the violation thereof and repealing conflicting ordinances.

    The City Council of the City of Ellensburg, Washington,[1] do ordain as follows:

    Section 1. No person shall fire any gun, cannon, rifle, pistol, toy pistol, or fire arms of any kind, or fire or explode any squib, bomb, rocket, cracker or Roman candle or other combustible fire works, or make use of any sling within the City of Ellensburg.
    Section 2. No person, firm, or corporation shall within the City of Ellensburg, sell, offer for sale, or have in his or its possession or custody any toy pistols, squibs, bombs, rockets, crackers, or Roman candles, or fire balloons[2] or other combustible fire works or any article for the making of pyrotechnic display; provided that nothing in this section contained shall be construed as to prohibit celebration committees from giving pyrotechnic displays of fireworks in public, protected places whenever such committee is thereunto authorized by resolution of the City Council.
    Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall on conviction thereof be fined in any sum not exceeding One hundred dollars[.]
    Section 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.”
